Why MedID exists
Your ID card can't tell a doctor what matters most.
Your NIC and driving licence prove who you are, but they say nothing about your health, and once printed, they can never be updated.
When someone is unconscious after an accident, the first minutes count. Responders are left guessing: allergic to penicillin? Diabetic? On blood thinners? Who is their family? MedID answers those questions in seconds.

Does MedID replace my NIC or driving licence?
No. MedID is not an identity document. It sits next to your ID in your wallet and carries the medical information your ID can't.
Does the person helping me need an app?
No. Any phone camera can scan the QR code. Your information opens in the web browser, in Sinhala, Tamil or English.
What if I lose my card?
Replace it from your account. The old card stops working immediately, and you print a new one.
What if there's no mobile signal?
You can choose to print your blood type on the card itself, so the most critical detail is there even offline.
Who can see my information?
Only someone who has your card and its PIN, and only what you've marked for them. If you choose, your emergency contacts are alerted when your card is opened.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. MedID is free and non-commercial. It was built to help people.
